A young man traveled a great distance in search of knowledge. When he reached an elderly sage, he asked, "Sir, I have time to do only three things in my life. Please tell me, what are the three most important things for me?" The sage replied: "The task you are doing right now is the most important work." "The person you are helping at this very moment is your most important person." "And whenever you are doing that work, that is your most important time." The young man was surprised! He expected the sage to mention some great act of worship or public service. The sage smiled and said, "Allah always desires our focus. Paying attention to the present moment and the present person is the greatest form of worship."
